Personal Property in your Automobile

Did you know if you keep personal property in your automobile and you have a loss, there are limits to how much of your property your auto policy will cover.

Personal property is covered under a homeowners, renters or condo policy. If you have a loss with your property (anywhere in the world) the coverage comes from one of the previous listed home type insurance policies, NOT your auto policy. Note: Most companies will cover up to a certain dollar amount of property stolen from an auto, but there is a limit which typically is around $200.

Since many people keep “stuff” in their auto’s without realizing there may be coverage gaps, we want to make sure you’re aware and have an understanding of your policy coverage’s and limits.
